The end of the blog

Now that E is over a year old I feel I can end the blog. I enjoyed blogging for his first year of life, but now that he is a little older and more active I need to spend more time with him and less time blogging. I still post photos and keep everyone up to date on things using Facebook, so if you are still interested, check Facebook now and then and you are sure to find out what adventures E has been up to.

It's been fun!

So long........

I love you Cozy Coupe!

E would rather be no where else than chillin' in his Cozy Coupe. Can't wait till it gets cooler so we can spend more than 5 minutes outside with it.

Ready to hit the streets in my cool shades!

The Cozy Coupe Rocks!

Someone cut E off, so he laid down on the horn and hollered, "outa my way, I'm comin' through!"

The new cozy coupe!

Elliott has moved up in the world of autos. He has trashed the cardboard box and is now sporting a brand spankin' new cozy coupe. It has keyless entry, cupholders, air conditioning, and an awesome stereo system.......and of course the cutest eyeballs you've ever seen. :o)

Prepare to laugh!

I grabbed up the video camera the other day when E started laughing because I was wiping some dust off my shorts. Why he thought this was so hilarious I don't know, but it sure got me laughing too. He was laughing so hard he was out of breath! These are the best moments!

Gotta love those Texas storms

Here's what E and I got caught in last night while out running some errands after grabbing a bite to eat with Daddy. The sky was really scary, yet awesome! That's one thing I love about living in Texas, watching the storms! It's awesome to see the powerful hand of God displaying His glory through the weather.

A major milestone!

What a handsome guy!

I can't believe it but a year has passed and E is now one year old. I has been such an emotional year, but we couldn't have asked for a more blessed year. We waited so long and had so much disappointment during our failed China adoption. It is just amazing to see what God has done and how HIS plan is perfect not ours. E could not be a more perfect fit for our family. Everything about him just seems to match with us, especially the curly hair....and it's getting curlier by the day! :o) He is so good natured and easy going that we keep waiting for the bomb to drop, but so far each step of his development has been rather easy.

He is still a little delayed due to his prematurity. He is crawling army style and starting to try to pull up on things, but he has yet to say a word. Oh he speaks his own language but no clear words yet. He doesn't have a tooth in his head yet either. Can you believe that? It doesn't stop him from eating anything and everything though. I think I am more worried about his development than I should be, but there is always that thought in the back of my mind that something might be wrong. E's doctor said he is developing at a normal rate and with a good curve, so I guess I should stop worrying.
His big accomplishment lately is that he has officially given up the bottle. He's had only his sippy cup for the last two days and doesn't seem to miss his "bah bah" at all. That's the kind of stuff I mean about him being easy. I have heard nightmare stories about trying to wean a baby.

I had a big 50th/1st Birthday party for Brett and E on Brett's birthday, so I am posting some pictures of that. It was a great time. It was a total surprise to Brett and we had almost 40 people here. They all did a great job keeping it a secret!

Then we went to Arkansas the next weekend to celebrate E's birthday with the family there. We were very excited to get to see Alex! Everyone was excited to see E and how much he has grown. E was excited to have cake again.....with ice cream! E also got to eat some of his grandma's fried okra and pickled beets. He actually liked them a lot! He like the cucumbers from her garden too. I'm posting some pictures of the trip. Another thing we got to do was go to our old church and see old friends. That was fun. I especially liked the showing off E part. :o)
Not much else is going on. My days of working out and running seem to have stalled out right now and I am in great need of some motivation. It doesn't help that it has been over 100 degrees for about two weeks now. I just can't seem to get in that mode and I hate it! Anyone have any suggestions?

Anyway, if you get a chance, go back and look through my blog posts from this past year. Oh how the Lord has worked! We praise and thank Him for all He has done......His provision, His blessing, His testing, His shaping, and even His discipline. What a mighty God we serve!

Road Rage

E got a new ride the other day. I think he named it "The Pampers Porsche". He loves it! Just look at the paint job, and that spotless windshield. The second I gave him the keys, he said, "later mom, I'm outa here." But it didn't take long for his temper to flare in this Dallas/Fort Worth traffic. See below..........

He starts the engine.....

And instantly, ROAD RAGE!
